Matthew Barnes

Chaplain

Public Servants Prayer

In 2004, Matthew Barnes founded Public Servants' Prayer, a ministry designed to provide prayer and pastoral care for those in civil government. Matthew also serves as the very first chaplain in the Indiana Statehouse.

From leading weekly Bible studies and chapel services in the Indiana Statehouse, to establishing personal relationships with leaders, God continues to open doors of unique ministry to elected officials.

In September of 2012, Public Servants' Prayer launched a national website with a prayer calendar that contains biographical information for all 7550 state legislators and 535 members of Congress nationwide. (thepsp.org)

Matthew also travels to churches around the state, the nation, and the world, reminding Christians of their responsibility to pray for their government officials.

Matthew, his wife Miriam, and their three children, Sarah, Micah, and Emma, reside in Indianapolis, IN.
