Public Servants Prayer
In 2004, Matthew Barnes founded Public Servants' Prayer, a ministry designed to provide prayer and pastoral care for those in civil government. Matthew also serves as the very first chaplain in the Indiana Statehouse.
From leading weekly Bible studies and chapel services in the Indiana Statehouse, to establishing personal relationships with leaders, God continues to open doors of unique ministry to elected officials.
In September of 2012, Public Servants' Prayer launched a national website with a prayer calendar that contains biographical information for all 7550 state legislators and 535 members of Congress nationwide. (thepsp.org)
Matthew also travels to churches around the state, the nation, and the world, reminding Christians of their responsibility to pray for their government officials.
Matthew, his wife Miriam, and their three children, Sarah, Micah, and Emma, reside in Indianapolis, IN.
Director of Christian Mission
YMCA of Greater Indianapolis
Joshua has been with the YMCA since 2001 and currently serves as the Director of Christian Mission for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. His main responsibility is to help the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis be more intentional with its Christian mission and set up mechanisms within the YMCA culture to spiritually impact the 250,000 people who come through their doors annually. This creative approach to ministry is accomplished by placing multiple volunteer Chaplains in each YMCA across central Indiana, creating YMCA Christian Mission Committees to help with outreach and partnering with local Churches to plant churches inside every YMCA building.
Joshua also gives leadership to a grass-roots network of Christian leaders in YMCAs across the United States who want to be more intentional with the YMCA Christian mission.
